The Manger

This manger is beat up.  Its old. The paint is fading.  The figures are chipped.
The stable/roof was made by my dad years ago.
I think my grandfather owned this many years ago.  My mom will
have to confirm it.
When I was younger, my parents always put a manger scene
below the Christmas tree.
My mom would cover baby Jesus with a cloth until
Christmas Eve.
As a family we would attend Midnight Mass and one
of my favorite things to do was uncover baby Jesus when we
got home from church.
This year, I put out the manger scene and forgot to cover baby Jesus.
Ryan noticed it and quickly covered him up.  He remembered
the tradition.   On Christmas morning, Ryan had the honor
of uncovering Baby Jesus.
Happy Birthday, Lord Jesus!
God, Thank you for sending your son to earth to live as
a human and to die for our sins.

One of my favorite things.....

This is my annual Christmas in a cup-
Starbucks Gingerbread Latte!
My husband spoils me with a cup throughout the
holiday season.
YUMMY!

Helping make Christmas Cookies

Andrew was decked out in an apron and santa hat to
help out in the kitchen making Christmas cookies.

While taking a milk break, Briggor continued with the mixing.
The oldest and the youngest son having a bit of fun!

Christmas Cookies

The Mendenhall Annual Christmas Cookie Decorating happened this
year on Christmas Eve.  Andrew was so happy that he didn't miss
out on this family tradition.  Andrew arrived home on leave just days
before.  The kids had a great time!

Megan's 14th Birthday

Megan celebrated her 14th birthday at Buffalo Wild Wings on
December 20th.

Last week of Elfcapades

The week before Christmas, our house elf, Oliver, was getting more and more into
trouble.  The family woke up to our stockings gone and in
their place were our underwear and panties!!!
And Oliver was hiding his eyes while sitting on the mantel above them!
On another morning, Oliver and the army men were in a heated battle
of snowball wars with pretend snowballs made out of marshmallows.

His last morning with us, Oliver was busy making snowflakes with
qtips!!
